These individuals are known to use fake credentials, fraudulent claims, and high‑pressure sales tactics while attempting to sell household cleaning products at inflated prices. Some may falsely state that they are ex‑offenders taking part in rehabilitation schemes.

There is also concern that such activity may be used to identify vulnerable homes for potential future burglaries.
